Monolith Soft E3 Trailer

It’s still lacking a name but the Monolith Soft RPG game for the Wii U is still managed to drop some jaws. There may be a lot of cute and cuddly titles on the Wii U but Monolith’s game is certainly not amongst those and is arguably the best showcase for the system in terms of visuals fidelity.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the RPG genre for whatever reason died with the PSOne as far as I’m concerned. Paper Mario on the GameCube being the only exception and even that was followed by two lackluster titles that now have me questioning whether I even like the Paper Mario games at all.

For whatever reason Monolith’s game for the Wii U always seems to gain my interest whenever I see it, there’s just something so grand and epic about it’s environments just that just scream “day zero” purchase. I can’t help but feel this is what RPG’s should of been like during the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 generation.

There’s no release date for Monolith’s Wii U game other than a vague 2014 hint which isn’t much to go by. We still don’t really have a name either but the game does appear to be coming along well and the 2014 release does seem like something that won’t slip.
