Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed III comes out tomorrow (Europe) and as per usual we have a launch trailer to mark the occasion. Yes I know it’s not Friday but in case you’ve not noticed pretty much all the big massive releases come out on Tuesday, they do as they please. To those wondering how the hell we’re still only at Assassin’s Creed III when clearly we’ve had more than that allow me to explain.
The original Assassin’s Creed was a huge success financially, critical and fan reception on the other hand was rather mixed but none the less Ubisoft got working a sequel. The sequel ended up being everything the first should have been and more to the point where Ubisoft saw fit to basically continue the Assassin’s Creed II story for two more titles. It’s unfair to accuse Ubisoft of milking the series because Brotherhood & Revelations were actually pretty good, far from a rush job.
There’s only so much you can do with a story before moving on so we have Assassin’s Creed III, the game that will push the story forwards rather than expand on it. It’s been in development shortly after Assassin’s Creed II launched and Ubisoft have pretty much everyone on the planet working on it. If you’re one of the people complaining the series got a bit stale then ideally Assassin’s Creed III is supposed to be the solution to your problem.
At the moment Assassin’s Creed III is launching on Xbox 360 & PS3 first with the PC & Wii U version following in next month. If you’re one of the people who pre-ordered a Wii U and don’t mind picking up a port a month later then Assassin’s Creed III is not a bad option.
Anyway that’s enough of me talking, enjoy the trailer.
