Already out in America and coming to us soon is Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition for the Wii U, a launch trailer has been released. I was hoping the trailer would show off some of the ways the game would make use of the Wii U but it appears that isn’t the case as it’s just here to show off the game in general. Maybe the press release will tell us more?
The Wii U is finally here and Nintendo fans now have a chance to become the Dark Knight and take on the worst of Gotham’s villains in Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition. An enhanced version of the award winning action game from 2011, Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition introduces new gameplay features developed exclusively for the Wii U and the Wii U GamePad, and includes all of the available downloadable content. Today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released the launch trailer for the game, which shows off Batman and Catwoman’s powerful new armor and several of the iconic villains in Gotham City’s incredible Rogues Gallery.
Okay that didn’t really help either but it does confirm that Armoured Edition contains all the downloadable content from the other versions so that’s good. What isn’t good however are reports that the game suffers from frame rate issues and isn’t compatible with the Wii U Pro controller which makes no sense to me. It seems a little silly to force players to use the gamepad when the Wii U Pro is supposed to act as a safety net for when gimmicky features don’t benefit the game.
If you’re a Nintendo exclusive gamer who has yet to play Batman Arkham City then I strongly urge you to do so as soon as possible, it’s one of the best game I’ve ever played. Maybe the Wii U version does little to add to the experience, maybe this version is a little worse for wear but if it’s your only option then by all means go for it.
