The 2011 update of the 80′s classic Boulder Dash is now out on iOS devices in the form of Boulder Dash-XL. Slowly digging it’s way through every relevant device capable of playing games Boulder Dash-XL is a modern update of the original, remember update not remake. There is a great extra that I covered in my review called retro mode which changes the game’s visuals and sounds to that of the original 80′s version.
Also mentioned in my review was the game’s silly £14.99 price tag which I felt was too high, thankfully Boulder Dash-XL on iOS will only set you back £1.99/$2.99. For some strange reason when searching for Boulder Dash-XL on iOS it comes out as the tenth search result, even a different Boulder Dash title named Boulder Dash Rocks show up before this one. I’ve never played that version, maybe it’s better.
