City-of-Steam

PointMMO, a new digital distribution platform focused on Free-to-Play MMO games, today announced that the site has 2,000 beta keys to give to its growing community to enter the City of Steam beta starting later today.

The current beta schedule for City of Steam is:

  • Summercrest: Nov. 30 – Dec. 4
  • Autumnwane: Dec. 14 – 18
  • Winter Festival: Dec. 23 – 28

“We’ve managed to get some hard to get beta keys for some of the hottest MMO games lately, including HAWKEN, World of Warplanes and now City of Steam,” said Kay Gruenwoldt, CEO of PointMMO. “Anyone looking for a great new MMO game to play for the weekend should check out our constantly growing catalog of titles, and City of Steam especially since it isn’t available to the general public.”

City of Steam is a 3D MMORPG set in an industrial age fantasy world. Using the Unity 3D engine, along with a number of in-house tools, the game has been optimized to be light and accessible without sacrificing graphics or content. Levels take up mere megabytes, keeping loading times very low. In addition, being browser-based means there is no need to download or install a bulky client; the game can be picked up and resumed on the fly on any other computer that has a web browser.

PointMMO features the fastest download available for every title on the platform thanks to proprietary progressive download technology embedded in the system. The platform is also adding browser games to the mix giving online gamers even more choice when they decide what game they want to play.

PointMMO Features

  • The fastest download of every MMO game featured on the platform
  • Registered members-only exclusives and promotions for new and classic MMO games
  • Free-to-play download games as well as top browser-based titles
  • Social features to let friends know when you are playing a new game
