If you’ve yet to pick up a copy of Dead or Alive 5 then you might want to hold out a little longer. TEAM NINJA have announced plans to release a new “super” edition of Dead or Alive 5 titled “Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate” which promises to add even more new content on top of the Plus edition.
Full details have yet to be revealed but the press release does provide us with some idea of what to expect.
DEAD OR ALIVE 5 ULTIMATE heightens the signature DOA fighting style with the inclusion of all of the new modes from DEAD OR ALIVE 5 PLUS, new stages and new fighters, including the first ever DOA appearance of Momiji and levels from the NINJA GAIDEN series to deliver the best in fighting entertainment.
The main draw of the Ultimate upgrade at the moment is the addition of Momiji as a playable character, she made her debut in the rather underrated Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword. The Ultimate upgrade is currently under development so we’ll find out more in the coming months. Hopefully they throw in all the costume DLC content into the Ultimate edition.
Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate is set to release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall. No word yet on whether current Dead or Alive 5 owners will be able to upgrade to the Ultimate edition but it’s a great entry point for players yet to pick up the game such as myself.
