Dead Space 3 Story Trailer

We seem to be getting loads of trailers released today and last but certainly not least is the Dead Space 3 story trailer. It wasn’t too long ago that we last got a trailer for this game but considering it’s coming out next week you can see why EA are building hype around this one.

Dead Space 3 as the name suggests is the third entry in the Dead Space series, if I had to pick three new features it would be the following

  • Weapon crafting
  • Optional drop in drop out co-op
  • Hey look, snow

The weapon crafting aspect of Dead Space 3 allows players to create their own weapons from parts collected throughout the adventure. Ever wanted that trusty plasma cutter to feature a flame thrower at the end of it? Providing you have the correct parts that’s now a possibility in Dead Space 3.

Co-op is perhaps the most talked about new featured in Dead Space 3 and before everyone starts to get worried here do keep in mind it’s completely optional. Bringing in a buddy causes the dialogue in Dead Space 3 to differ in order to compensate for the extra person which is a nice touch. Personally I’ll have my first play through be a solo affair but tackling a harder difficulty with a friend after you’ve finished the game sounds like good time.

The last “new” thing about Dead Space 3 is the snow, unlike Dead Space 2 which stuck to it’s roots perhaps a little too closely. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed the first two Dead Space games but I’m glad for the third we’re seeing something different and more importantly something more open ended.

Ah yes I almost forget, there’s a Dead Space 3 demo in case you’ve missed it. Be sure to give it a go as we await the game’s release on February 5th in North America and February 8th in Europe.
