You’d think Nintendo would save some new Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze footage for their monthly Direct streams but this is Nintendo. You should all know by now that Nintendo loves to drop surprises on everyone and today we get a brand new trailer for Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is the fifth entry in the Donkey Kong Country series although these days it’s Retro Studios in charge of the series since Microsoft took Rare and kicked them in the nuts. Let’s not get too into detail regarding Rare otherwise we could be here all day and I may drop a couple of F-bombs.
Today Nintendo released a new trailer for the game focusing on Dixie Kong who has the ability to further propel herself into the air after the initial jump. She appears to play pretty similarly to how she did in Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 so she’ll likely be my favourite character in Tropical Freeze.
Nintendo recently announced a delay for Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, the game will now miss it’s expected November/December launch and will instead arrive in February 2014. I’m sure everyone is pretty pissed off about that but at least we still have Super Mario 3D World later this year and if you haven’t already, do check out Rayman Legends.
Also, am I the only one who loved those rocket barrel stages in Donkey Kong Country Returns and is excited to see them make a comeback in Tropical Freeze?
