Dusty Revenge: The Art of Revenge

New indie title Dusty Revenge will be giving it’s kickstarter backers a beautiful artbook as a reward for their generosity.

PD Design Studio is thrilled to announce the release of a 150 page artbook as a promotion for their upcoming 2D action platformer, Dusty Revenge. The full color, 150 page hardback art book features plenty of concepts of the characters and environments, the evolution of the characters, early sketches of environment designs, comics and much more. The Kickstarter campaign is loaded with rewards, including a bundle of both the comic and the game, which is set to launch Summer of 2013.

Fans of the action platformer or sidescrolling beat em up will feel at home with this title; leap, punch and scythe your way through gorgeous levels as Dusty the rabbit. Out to avenge his beloved, Dusty joins forces with two team mates so as to not take on the enemy alone. This part of the story alone equips the player with the ability to launch rockets at or snipe out unreachable enemies - and even rock the environment around for some puzzle moments.

The animation looks like it needs a bit of a cleanup - the art is fantastic, but the interaction between characters seems laggy. The boss fights do promise some refreshing moments in the game-play but as to how PD Design Studio will keep this from becoming lost amongst the plethora of action platformers we will have to wait and see.

The screenshots are looking gorgeous and the artbook looks to be a celebration of the team’s talent.

Dusty Revenge is set for a release in Summer 2013 on Mac, with a subsequent release on Windows PC shortly after. The design team have confirmed on their site that they have also received the Ouya development kit - so we should see a release on that platform also.
