Minecraft Servers Brought Together With Central Lobby

Minecraft Lobby

The real beauty of Minecraft lies in the creation aspect. Yeah, of course there’s the actual creation of buildings and villages, but the ingenuity of the Minecraft community has led to creations that change major aspects of the game. We’ve seen mods and add-ons that drastically alter key aspects of the game, bringing a rich variety of scenarios for all to enjoy.

The latest of these mods, brought to us by developers HighlifeTTU and lazertester, aims to unite many Minecraft servers with a central lobby system, allowing travel between them and, potentially, massively-multiplayer functionality. Now I’ve always been the type of player who rents a server and keeps it private for me and my friends, but it seems that many people are happy jumping on public servers and joining the masses.

The problem, up until this point, has been the fact that servers fill up, so users must try multiple times to find a free one. With this new system in place, players can enter a central lobby, then walk down hallways to find a free world; much easier than typing in server numbers and hoping for the best. There’s even a non-PvP lounge where players can meet each other and contact admins.

It all sounds like a really cool idea, and further proof that Minecraft is totally awesome. Check out Imgur if you want more info on this exciting new mode.
