Probably one of the few times a pre-order deal wasn’t terrible, if you pre-order Crysis 3 you’ll get the original Crysis for free EA has announced. Not much more is known at the moment such as which retailers will support the offer but I’m assuming it’s at least all the major ones. Microsoft had a similar deal in 2008 where pre-ordering Banjo Nuts & Bolts meant you were entitled to a code which gave you the original Banjo Kazooie on XBLA as a free digital download.
The original Crysis came out on PC back in 2007 and most of you will remember it as a game designed for hardware that didn’t even exist at the time, even in 2012 the game is still somewhat of a benchmark to test your hardware. It also spawned the popular internet meme of “Can it run Crysis?”
Late last year Crytek brought that very same game to the Xbox 360 & PS3 as a digital download which was more playable than most were expecting. The PC version of Crysis is still the way to go but if you only own a console then it’s a respectable port of a game that has no business running on a Xbox 360 or PS3 in the first place. Don’t worry PC gamers as this offer also applies to you guys.
