It was 16 years ago today that Sega released one of their best-regarded games - the surreal flying adventure NiGHTS into dreams. Now, to celebrate its anniversary, they’ve announced that an HD remake will soon be making its way to Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC Digital Download.
“The SEGA Saturn offered many unique gaming experiences, and NiGHTS into dreams… stands out as one of the most recognizable titles that found a home on the system,” said Chris Olson, Vice President of Digital Business at SEGA. “We’ve gotten a lot of requests about this game over the years, and are very happy to be able to give both former Saturn owners and new players a chance to play it in its most beautiful form to date this fall.”
The adventure will arrive in full High Definition widescreen, and feature all the perks we expect from modern games, such as achievements, trophies, and leaderboards. There will even be an optional Saturn mode, allowing players to experience the whole thing with the original graphics intact (something that seems to be a bit of a trend these days). Now, if only I had one of those “Saturn 3D” controllers with full analog movement….
Here’s an official trailer, so you know you’re not dreaming.
