Konami have announced earlier today that a patch for the PS3 version of Silent Hill Downpour is now available. Before anyone gets too excited this is a patch for Downpour and not the awful HD Collection, I’m sorry that game will never be fixed. Silent Hill Pour on the other hand isn’t as bad and the patch is aims to address some of the performance issues players have been experiencing.
Today, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced a patch and product update for Silent Hill Downpour, the critically acclaimed survival horror title, originally released in March. The online patch, available via PlayStation®Network, enhances the gameplay experience by improving features and bugs within the game, including, but not limited to:
- Improved frame rate
- Fixed save game system
- Fixed bugs in “Homeless” side quest/mission
- Several other performance enhancements/bug fixes
To some of you this news might sound familiar but keep in mind that the Xbox 360 version of Silent Hill Downpour was patched last month. PS3 owners on the other hand have had to wait until now to see that same patch make it’s over which is a bit odd considering both system usually receive updates around the same time. Then again being a Silent Hill fan these days isn’t exactly easy anyway when you have stuff like the HD Collection and Revelation 3D around.
I’m not really sure where that press release is getting at by calling Downpour a critically acclaimed title, last time I checked reaction to Silent Hill Downpour was rather mixed. I feel for you Silent Hill fans, it’s not really been the same since Silent Hill 3 has it? For what it’s worth Shattered Memories on Wii is pretty good and hopefully this patch will make Downpour a little better.
