Another year, another Spider-man title and this time round it’s The Amazing Spider-man 2. Much like the upcoming film, the best part so far appears to be the new Spider-man suit, seriously I can’t get over just how faithful to the original source material it is.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, players once again assume the role of the iconic Super Hero in a unique side-story inspired by the feature film but set in its own continuity. Throughout his journey, Spider-Man will encounter a number of new foes as well as some old friends, as he confronts a new threat to his beloved city. The narrative will give Peter Parker, Spider-Man’s nerdy photojournalist persona, a greater role in the spotlight, as he investigates the complicated motivations and unique personalities behind the menagerie of Marvel menaces threatening Manhattan.
The Amazing Spider-man 2 is currently set to release on 3DS, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One. That’s a lot of systems but thankfully the box art looks the same across all different versions so here’s what you’ll need to look out for when the game comes out.
Ah yes I almost forgot, here’s the reveal trailer for The Amazing Spider-man 2. I’ll let you guys be the judge of the “amazing” part in the game’s title and whether this game has any chance of dethroning Spider-man 2 on PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox.
At present there’s no firm release date for The Amazing Spider-man 2 other than the vague “Spring 2014” seen at the end of the trailer. I’m willing to bet that it will arrive around the time the film of the same name does, that’s May 2nd for all you non true believers.
