Some new in game screenshots from Shinji Mikami’s “The Evil Within” have been released and it’s looking amazing. If you don’t know who Shinji Mikami is then I’m sure you’ll at least be familiar with his games which include Vanquish, God Hand and a little series known as Resident Evil.
Shinji Mikami is otherwise known as the father of both Resident Evil and survival horror, he left Capcom after the closure of Clover Studios making God Hand his last game for the company. His last contribution to survival horror was Resident Evil 4 so that would explain why five and six were terrible sequels.
Anyway enough shining sunlight up this man’s ass, he is BACK to his survival horror roots with The Evil Within which promises to be revive the almost dead genre. The Evil Within isn’t turning it back on survival horror by going the action root, this game is pure terror throughout and should be a love letter to fans of the genre.
At the moment we don’t know much about the game other than it might as well be considered the sequel that Resident Evil 4 never got, interestingly enough The Evil Within is just another way of saying Resident Evil. Oh Shinji you sly little devil, speaking of devil actually, he totally worked on original Devil May Cry too.
