Telltale games have announced that The Walking Dead Episode One will be free on iOS for a limited time. Based on the television show of the same name The Walking Dead is the latest game from Telltale games who specialise in episodic gaming. You’ve likely heard of Telltale games before as their previous works include Back to the Future, Jurassic Park and Sam & Max.
The Walking Dead game is Telltale Games’ biggest success yet picking up numerous game of the year awards from various media outlets and organizations including the Spike VGAs 2012. I personally don’t count the VGA as that show was horrible as per usual and The Walking Dead winning game of the year there comes across as a lame attempt to score some points with gamers.
Whether The Walking Dead deserves to be game of the year or not is something that you can decide yourself thanks to Telltale Games offering up the first episode of a five part game for free. If you like what you play then by all means go ahead and pick up the rest, you can also find The Walking Dead on Xbox 360, PS3, PC or Mac if you’re not a fan of iOS. I myself have not yet checked out The Walking Dead so I’m going to give this a download and see what the fuss is about.
In addition to The Walking Dead Telltale games have even reduced the price on their previous games such as Tales of Monkey Island, each episode costs 69p. Long story short, there’s no reason not to be playing something Telltale related this week.
