Typing of the Dead Overkill Now Available On Steam

So here’s a random piece of news, the Typing of the Dead Overkill is now available on Steam for PC owners. Sega had teased earlier in the week some kind of announcement but we all assumed it would be rubbish. Thankfully that wasn’t the case as the Typing of the Dead series is always stupidly entertaining.

During the Dreamcast days it’s fair to say that Sega were at their most creative period, play REZ or Samba De Amigo if you need proof of that. Towards the end of the Dreamcast’s life the team behind the Jet Set Radio series had the crazy idea of taking House of the Dead 2 and turning it into a typing based game. Instead of shooting enemies you’d type the words on screen and even participate in small Q&A sessions for the boss fights.

It was dumb, it was hilarious, it was FUN and now it’s BACK!

What Sega have done this time round is taken House of the Dead Overkill and given it the “Typing of the Dead” makeover. Considering the whole game centers around typing don’t expect this one to turn up anywhere else other than the PC although I’d totally buy a USB keyboard if this came to the a console.

Best of all however is that the game is available now and they’re even running a promotion to celebrate it’s release. It’s £7.49 / €8.99 / $9.99 at the moment until November 1st. After that the game will £14.99 / €17.99 / $19.99 so don’t waste time and buy this one RIGHT NOW!
