The Ubisoft E3 press conference has come to an end and we’ve got the summary for you. As always I won’t waste your time with intro talks so we’ll dive right into a general overview of what Ubisoft had in store for us this year. I hope you like CG trailers as much as Ubisoft does.
- Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains kicks off the show by playing Rocksmith.
- Rocksmith 2014 will be available this October.
- Aisha Tyler tells attempts humour but no one seems to care.
- Splinter Cell Blacklist trailer shown, looks cool.
- Rayman Legends CG trailer shown, why CG?
- Another Rayman Legends trailer shown, this time gameplay. I guess they heard me
- Mighty Quest CG trailer shown and it succeeded at humour, looking at you Aisha.
- South Park The Stick of Truth trailer coming up.
- Yves Guillemot is here, wow he is tiny next to Aisha.
- A new game from Ivory Tower/Reflection is next.
- Hey look, it’s another CG trailer. Seriously Ubisoft?
- The game is called “The Crew”, it reminds me of Fast & Furious.
- Live gameplay demonstration for “The Crew” is taking place.
- Huge open world driving game with a heavy emphasis on multiplayer.
- Coming to Xbox One, PS4 & PC in early 2014.
- Watch_Dogs is up next and yet another CG trailer, yup the one that leaked.
- What? No gameplay demonstration? WTF!
- Even worse, now they’re following it up with Just Dance 4.
- Rabbids Invasion TV show announced.
- Another Ubisoft dude walks out wearing a BADASS flower t-shirt.
- “Play” the TV Show using Kinect, I’m not joking.
- Seriously guys, where did that Ubisoft dude get that flower t-shirt?
- Assassin’s Creed IV is next and they’re showing gameplay.
- … I’m joking, it’s another CG trailer yet again.
- Gameplay trailer finally shown, looked great.
- Trailer for Trials Fusion is now being shown.
- OH WAIT!, it’s a new Trials game. I’m so stupid, of course.
- Two Trials games in development, one next-gen & one for mobiles.
- Trials Fusion is coming to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS4 & PC.
- Trials Frontier is the name of the mobile game.
- Yves is back, someone give that man a stepladder.
- A new game from Massive Entertainment is coming up.
- The game is called “The Division” and is a 3rd person shooter of some kind.
- Right it appears to be a new Tom Clancy based game, an open world RPG.
- Looks alright but I’d be lying if I said I was all that impressed.
- Currently in development for Xbox One & PlayStation 4.
- That’s the end of the show.
Not quite the mega smash that was Ubisoft at last year’s E3 but a solid showing nonetheless, better than EA’s boring sports talk anyway although we shouldn’t undervalue the awesome Mirror’s Edge 2 announcement.
The usual suspects showed up although the lack of a Watch_Dogs gameplay demonstration was disappointing but something tells me we’ll see that at Sony’s conference later on.
To those of you complaining about the amount of sequels in the industry, Ubisoft were on hand with The Crew and The Division alongside last year’s Watch_Dogs so consider yourselves somewhat covered. It’s always nice to see something new and it appears that Ubisoft is striking a nice balance between new IP and sequels.
Sadly there was no Beyond Good & Evil 2, I don’t think this game even exists but it’s E3 and we all let our emotions get the best of us. Perhaps the game will show up next year once work on Rayman Legends is finally complete, assuming Ubisoft can actually stick to a date.
Skip to the 9 minute mark because Ubisoft don’t know how to trim videos.
