Sega and Gearbox Software just announced a brand new multiplayer mode for their upcoming shooter, Aliens: Colonial Marines. Entitled ‘Escape Mode’, it will challenge teams of 4 marines to blast their way through fast-paced maps in order to escape the deadly Xenomorphs. Of course, the 4-player Xenomorph team has the opposite objective, trying to eliminate the attacking forces as quickly as possible.
With a limited amount of time, the armed forces will need to use each faction’s unique skills if they hope to survive their frightening foes. Identifying their opponents weak spots will be a necessary tactic if they don’t want to end up in pieces.
Escape Mode joins the previously-announced competitive deathmatch mode, as well as the four-player cooperative campaign, giving fans of the franchise plenty to work through. Look forward to it when the game launches on February 12th, 2013.
