BioShock Infinite Burial At Sea Episode One DLC Trailer

bioshock 600x300

IrrationalGames have released a trailer for the first piece of story driven DLC for Bioshock Infinite. I hope you guys liked Rapture as much as I did because we’re going back with Burial at Sea, the potential here is pretty exciting to say the least.

Come back to Rapture in a story that finds Booker and Elizabeth on the eve of the underwater city’s fall from grace. Developed by Irrational Games, the developer of the original BioShock and BioShock Infinite, this DLC features Rapture as you’ve never seen it before—a shining jewel at the bottom of the ocean, built almost entirely from scratch in the BioShock Infinite engine. Gameplay has been modified to give the player an original BioShock combat experience that merges the best parts of BioShock and BioShock Infinite.

Explore the city when it was at the height of its beauty, meet some old “friends,” and make some new ones, all through the eyes of Booker DeWitt. Why are Booker and Elizabeth in Rapture? What was the city like before everything fell to pieces? The answers to these questions and more will be found in BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea — Episode 1

Reading that YouTube description has me super excited, gameplay merged from the best aspects of Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite? You mean I might actually be able to have more than two guns, you might actually bring back the map system, you might ignore the stupid “modern gaming” trends and deliver us a proper Bioshock game?

Oh yeah I almost forgot, you came here for the trailer itself didn’t you? Well check it out, it’s pretty awesome all around.

No word yet on when we can expect Burial at Sea to arrive, Ken Levine has implied a 2013 release for episode one with episode two possible arriving next year. To those of you who have not played Bioshock 2′s Minerva’s Den add-on DLC, don’t be surprised if Burial at Sea ends up being better than the game itself.
