Capcom have officially redeemed themselves for everything ever with this DuckTales Remastered trailer. No seriously this is actually the best thing I’ve heard in years, I’m on the verge of tears with this announcement.
DuckTales Remastered is a exactly what the title implies, it’s a remake of the original NES title featuring all new shiny visuals alongside some other additions. The visuals are all new but wonderfully hand-drawn sprites means the game will stay true to the source material, the character voices will be authentic too with the original voice actor for Scrooge McDuck returning.
Some new areas will be featured in the game such as a tutorial, Scrooge’s Money Bin and even a museum. The soundtrack itself will also be remastered although hopefully there will be an option to choose the 8-bit version, if only for the nostalgic appeal.
The game is being developed by WayForward Technologies who have done some great work in the past with titles such as Shantae, Contra 4 and Aliens Infestation. Shantae in particular was published by Capcom so that perhaps that explains the connection between these two developers in regards to DuckTales Remastered.
DuckTales Remastered will be available this summer for Wii U, PSN and XBLA, cannot wait for this one.
