If you’re looking for something spooky to play this Halloween, but spent all your money on cool costumes, pumpkins and candy, you may want to check out Indie Royale’s Halloween Bundle. It features five of the spookiest indie games from recent memory, and brings them all for the low, low price of, well, whatever you want to pay.
First up is Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playground, the graphically rich puzzle adventure title starring detective Sam, a six-foot dog, and his partner Max, a three-foot tall psychotic bunny. Although this is the third season of duo’s adventures, it can be enjoyed without playing the others, and tells the tale of the Devil’s Toybox and Toys of Power. Spooky.
Next up is Home, the story of a man who wakes up in a strange house with no memory of how he got there. With dead bodies, bloodstains and abandoned weapons littered around, it quickly becomes clear that everything isn’t right. Home offers multiple paths dependant on your actions, which will determine how much of the mystery you can solve. Read our review of it HERE.
Next on the list is Pathalogic, a creepy conceptual first-person adventure/action game that takes place in a small town. You play as one of three healers who arrive just as a merciless infection breaks out and threatens to kill everyone. As you explore the world, the other two healers go about their missions and you must interact with them throughout the disturbing and outlandish story.
The fourth game is MacGuffin’s Curse, a comedy-puzzle-adventure game about a magician turned thief turned werewolf. As Lucas MacGuffin, you’ll embark on a journey through puzzles to clear your name and unbind yourself from the amulet that made you a werewolf in the first place, while being chased by the police and a corrupt but powerful millionaire.
Finally, we have EvilQuest, the retro RPG in which you play as the villain. Galvis is a dark knight who is obsessed with ultimate power and on a quest for revenge, sending him on an adventure that will be familiar to fans of classic role playing. However, playing as the bad guy changes things up a bit, so don’t expect quite the same reaction as you interact with others throughout the world.
So head on over to www.indieroyale.com if you’d like a chance to play these spooky games for yourself. Don’t forget that the more people who purchase the bundle, the higher the price goes, but you could always be one of the kind souls who pays a bit more in order to lower the cost again.
