inFAMOUS Second Son Behind The Scenes Trailer

inFamous Second Son 600 x 300

The latest addition to Sony’s ongoing “behind the scenes” series is inFAMOUS Second Son, the most exciting PlayStation 4 game in development. Well for me it is anyway, everything else looks a little bland and uninspired but let’s go easy on the PlayStation 4, it’s not even out yet.

Behind the scenes videos are usually all the same, various members of the development team talking for a few minutes about thing you won’t even think about when you’re playing the game. I just want to fly around the city and take in the vistas whilst blowing some stuff up on the streets purely for my own amusement.

I love how they talk about the improvements made to the PlayStation 4 controller such as the analog sticks, buttons and triggers. Basically everything I’ve been complaining about since 2007, everyone is more than happy to admit the sucked the first time round now that they’ve been fixed. Sucker Punch are not wrong however, the PlayStation 4 controller is indeed a huge improvement over the PlayStation 3 one.

The most appealing part of the video for me was how Sucker Punch talks about giving the control scheme a change. By inFAMOUS 2 the amount of powers Cole had at his disposal grew rather large and you’d have to go into a menu to cherry pick which ones you wanted or most importantly, needed. For inFAMOUS Second Son however you know have access to all your powers at once and everything has been streamlined which is great to hear as it’s definitely a small issue I had with inFAMOUS 2.

Oh and the story sucked in inFAMOUS 2 but we’ll have to wait and see if Second Son offers up any improvements in that area when it launches sometime in early 2014. The PlayStation 4′s first killer app? I’d like to think so.
