Project X Zone is a game we didn’t expect to leave Japan, Namco have released some screens and character art to remind us that this really is happening.
To those of you who maybe don’t keep up to date with what happens in Japan, Project X Zone is a tactical role playing game featuring characters from Namco, Capcom and Sega. It’s more or less a follow up to the 2005 Namco X Capcom which was released for the PlayStation 2 but never made it outside Japan.
The game is co-developed between Banpresto and Monolith Soft, the later of which has a good reputation amongst the RPG crowd and have been deemed as the new “Square”. These kinds of crossover titles normally never make it outside Japan due to licensing issues, you’d be surprised how often licensing stops many games from being released internally or just re-released in general.
Project X Zone is a 3DS title and will be arriving sometime in the summer which isn’t too long at all. Fans of RPG’s and cross over titles should definitely keep an eye out for this one when it arrives. Don’t be afraid to show your support by actually buying the game, send a message that we appreciate it when a publisher makes the effort to bring us something that had next to no chance of launching in North America and Europe.
