Sega have been keeping quiet on their 3D classic series for the Nintendo 3DS but they’ve FINALLY got round to revealing the details we want. More specifically the European release dates and prices for games like Streets of Rage and Sonic The Hedgehog.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Nintendo 3DS classics then it’s quite simple really, a developer takes old school classic and retro fits it with 3D. In the case of Kirby’s Adventure 3D Classic, they’ve even removed the slowdown from the original version but generally speaking these 3D classics are basically pixel perfect renditions of the games you grew up playing.
“These games were completely re-built to offer a robust 3D experience that offers more modern gameplay while still keeping true to the original,” commented John Cheng, President and COO, SEGA of America. “We look forward to bringing these classic SEGA titles to Nintendo 3DS for fans – both old and new.”
Here the list of titles on the way. Each will cost $5.99/€4.99/£4.49.

- 3D Super Hang-On – 28th November
- 3D Sonic The Hedgehog - 5th December
- 3D Altered Beast – 5th December
- 3D Ecco the Dolphin – 12th December
- 3D Galaxy Force II – 12th December
- 3D Shinobi III – 12th December
- 3D Streets of Rage – 12th December
Which one should you pick up? Well, ALL of them really (it’s Sega after all) but I hear Space Harrier is particularly impressive running in 3D.
