You’ve heard of the Resident Evil 6 X Left 4 Dead 2 crossover but now you’ll be available to see it for yourself with Capcom’s newest gameplay trailer. The footage itself does look pretty awesome with the characters from Left 4 Dead 2 doing some serious damage in the world of Resident Evil. Also seen in the video are enemies from the Left 4 Dead series such as the Tank and Witch who actually don’t too out of place at all.
Whilst I’m sitting here watching the footage it does leave me wondering, is that even a glimpse of Resident Evil’s survival horror roots any more? I understand all things Mercenaries are not supposed to be cannon but it’s a bit weird seeing these characters running around sliding all over the place popping enemies like nobody’s business.
At the end of the day there’s nothing to complain about here, the great thing about this crossover is that it’s going to be completely free. The crossover is exclusive to the PC versions of Resident Evil 6 and Left 4 Dead 2 since “free” appears to be a bad word in the world of consoles.
The Left 4 Dead 2 characters will invade the PC version of Resident Evil 6 on April 5th.
