Owners of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be pleased to hear that tomorrow Namco will update the game to unlock the last remaining seven fighters. The way Namco has handled DLC for Tekken Tag 2 is that initially different retailers will get one of four characters as a timed exclusive, after a while Namco will then release these days free of charge later on. It’s great because retailers get to boast about having exclusives if you buy from them but at the same time the consumer isn’t being hurt in the long run.
Those of you who play Tekken Tag Tournament 2 tomorrow will notice that the remaining seven characters previously revealed will be unlocked for you to play as bringing the total roster to 59. Pretty much every Tekken character ever seen is featured in Tekken Tag 2 excluding that little Gon Dinosaur from Tekken 3 because he is actually a licensed property and he is cheap as hell so no one wants him back anyway.
The following seven remaining character will be unlocked tomorrow.
- Dr. Boskonovitch
- Unknown
- Violet
- Ancient Ogre
- Angel
- Michelle Chang
- Kunimitsu
Obviously characters like Voilet and Dr. Boskonovitch are there so Namco can say Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has every Tekken character ever within it but take a closer look. That’s right, Kunimitsu is returning and I for one can’t wait to finally have my ideal team of Jun & Kunimitsu return. I take it there’s a fair amount of Kunimitsu fans out there who have been awaiting her return for a while.
Wii U owners don’t worry because by the time your version pops along all of the fighters will be unlocked and you even get the return of Tekken Ball mode in your version, no word yet if Xbox 360 & PS3 owners will get Tekken Ball mode as DLC somewhere down the line. All we are missing now is details on when the Snoop Dogg stage will be available to everyone and rest assured when the details are out I won’t be the one who reports it because screw Snoop Dogg.
