I didn’t even know it was Halloween today until Sony released this LittleBigPlanet Karting trailer today. LittleBigPlanet Karting is being developed by the folks over at United Front Games which you’ll remember brought you Sleeping Dogs earlier in August which was pretty well received. They also have history with karting games having also developed ModNation Racers which I don’t believe many played if those low European sales figures were correct.
LittleBig Planet Karting is basically Sony noticing the team’s good work on ModNation Racers and giving them the LittleBigPlanet IP so that their second attempt at the karting genre won’t be unnoticed. Even though it makes a lot of sense LittleBigPlanet Karting is currently only set to launch on PS3 in little over a week from now. No Vita version is currently in the works which seems like a missed opportunity for Sony’s struggling handheld but hey I’m not the one making the decisions.
Ah yes you want a reminder of that release date, well it’s November 6th for Americans, November 7th for Europeans and for some reason the UK don’t count as Europe because we get it on the 9th November. User created content will obviously be a part of the game considering it’s game based on LittleBigPlanet so it’s only a matter of time before players start creating their favourite Mario Kart levels. If any of you talented people are reading this please make the 6 minute Rainbow Road track from Mario Kart 64, thanks.
