The Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright games were some of my favorites on DS. While they were both essentially puzzle games, they had distincly different gameplay, which is why the announcement of Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney left some scratching their heads. This new trailer from TGS helps alleviate some of the confusion, by showing that it is essentially both styles combined into one.
The game is set for Japanese release on November 29th, which gives me just over two months to become fluent in Japanese. Seriously, I don’t know if I can wait for this title, as they usually take ages to be translated for the Western world. Come on, Capcom, give us an English release date!
This is not the first time the Ace Attorney has featured in a mash-up game, having previously been seen in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Which franchise will the young litigator invade next? I’m looking forward to finding out.
