Do you like CGI faces? Well here is another. Activision have been the latest to throw their hat into the ring and blow your mind with the power and potential of their new game engine. As with other studios, it seems like the way to do this is to render a human face so realistically emotions will be stirred (at least so David Cage hopes).
So I have gathered the three most recent CGI face tech demonstations here for you to ogle at and compare. Personally they all feel pretty creepy to me, one step to far beyond into the uncanny valley.

And yes I know whether or not that Joakim Morgen interview is a CGI construct of not is still up for debate, I thought it was worth including anyway.
It is great that there is going to be many options available to game developers beyond the ubiquitous Unreal engines, for the coming wave of next generation machines. But its worth taking any lofty claims that are being made with a pinch of salt, consider what these demos don’t show: whole levels running in real time, interactions, A.I. Besides a strong original art style goes much towards making an interesting game than realism, for me personally anyhow.
