Sega have announced that pre-ordering Anarchy Reigns at GameStop will gain you two extra modes and Bayonetta herself. I myself am not the biggest fan of pre-order bonuses but the DLC on offer here seems pretty harmless, at the very least you only have buy from one retail outlet to get everything. There’s also a pretty good reason you might want to pre-order anyway, Anarchy Reigns will be retailing for the reduced price of $29.99 in the states and £19.99 over here in the UK.
We’re excited to announce details for the GameStop exclusive DLC for the highly anticipated Anarchy Reigns game, launching January 8, 2013. For those gamers eager to cause as much anarchy as possible, pre-ordering the game at GameStop will net them two extra multiplayer game modes, Mad Survival and Dogfight, and an extra playable character: none other than the world’s most famous witch, Bayonetta!
In Mad Survival mode, a team of 3 players duke it out against waves of enemies, much as in the normal survival mode. However, these enemies now take the form of the other playable characters in Anarchy Reigns, leading to a far tougher series of battles that require serious tactical thinking to outsmart your foes. In traditional PlatinumGames style, Dogfight mode sees players hanging from helicopters -pelting each other with bullets until their opponents fall out of the sky. As well as being a surreal new spin on this multiplayer brawler, this aerial-based game mode is an entertaining change of pace from land-based combat, offering gamers a new way to explore the locations found in-game.
Originally released back in July in Japan Sega seemed uncertain for a while if it even wanted to bring Anarchy Reigns over but thankfully after some consideration they’ve decided to go through with it. The reduced price is a smart idea and I’m glad not every publisher thinks that a boxed product always has to be full price. With that said I can’t see the game being much of a hit, the name is rubbish, the box art is trash and no one even knows it even exists.
Anarchy Reigns is developed by Platinum Games who are responsible for titles such as Bayonetta and Vanquish, the latter is actually very likely the most criminally underrated game of this generation so shame on you if you missed it. To those interested Anarchy Reigns’ current release date is January 8th for America and the 11th for Europe. As always with Platinum Games, Anarchy Reigns will be a great game that no one plays.
