Konami you evil company, you had me worried that Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection wouldn’t make it to Europe. The good news is that the collection will see a European release after all although we’re going to have to wait a while. North American and Japanese gamers are already enjoying the collection but we won’t be seeing it until September.
The Legacy Collection includes:
- METAL GEAR SOLID
- METAL GEAR SOLID 2: HD Edition
- METAL GEAR SOLID 3: HD Edition (featuring the original MSX versions of METAL GEAR and METAL GEAR 2)
- METAL GEAR SOLID: Peace Walker HD Edition
- METAL GEAR SOLID: SPECIAL MISSIONS
- METAL GEAR SOLID 4: Trophy Edition.
The collection also includes both METAL GEAR SOLID DIGITAL GRAPHIC NOVELS which are illustrated by acclaimed artist, Ashley Wood, and the second of which was never released in Europe.
If you’re wondering about a possible Xbox 360 port then the answer is still the same, Metal Gear Solid 4 was never released on the Xbox 360 and porting it over is probably more hassle than Konami are willing to deal with. Besides an Xbox 360 port of Metal Gear Solid 4 would take this collection from a two disc set to a five disc set.
No exact release date has been announced for Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection beyond the vague September announcement. At the very least we European gamers can rest easy knowing the collection is heading our way and what a fantastic collection it is.
