Metal Gear Solid V E3 Trailer

Microsoft wanted to start off it’s E3 conference with a bang and what better way than an Metal Gear Solid V trailer? No I’m actually serious, the TV company decided some gamers might be watching during the E3 period so they assumed it was probably a good idea to stick in some games to shut us up.

Metal Gear Solid V may be a sequel in name but in terms of gameplay it’s not looking too similar to past games, in fact it’s a pretty radical departure. Metal Gear Solid now takes place in an open world environment and as you can see in the trailer, it’s has a very “Red Dead Redemption vibe to it.

Everything that I’ve seen on Metal Gear Solid V thus far has been different, this game consistently keeps me guessing and just when I have a good idea of what the game is about, Kojima throws something new at me. I don’t think I can forgive him for getting rid of David Hayter as the voice of Big Boss but the rest of the game is looking cool so my boycott attempt has gone nowhere.

The game is a little strange in that it’s coming to five different platforms, both for the current gen and the next-gen. I’m sure they’ve obviously opted to show off the next-gen versions of the game but it will be interesting to see what it looks like on an eight year old Xbox 360.
