Get ready for some awesome games from Oddworld Inhabitants, coming soon to a Sony console near you. First, there’s Oddworld: Strangers Wrath HD, which is coming to PlayStation Vita. It’s out in North America on Tuesday December 18th and Europe on Wednesday December 19th, priced at $14.99/€11.99/£9.99. Secondly, there’s Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD, which is coming to PlayStation 3. It’s available December 19th in Europe with North American release TBC, costing $9.99/€8.99/£7.99.
Stranger’s Wrath follows the story of Stranger, a fearsome bounty hunter that captures outlaws to raise “moolah” for a mysterious surgical procedure. After encountering the backwater town of the Grubbs, Stranger discovers that there are a few too many secrets about the past and his future as a bounty hunter. The Vita version takes advantage of the hardware, including front and rear touch controls and improves visuals.
In Munch’s Oddysee, players guide legendary Oddworld hero Abe, and his aquatic Gabbit partner Munch, using special psychic powers, cool power-ups, and other special abilities to deliver payback as they reclaim the last Gabbit eggs on Oddworld, which have been packaged in a can of Gabbiar. The game features unlockable concept art, new audio and art assets along with an improved control system designed for the PS3.
The Oddworld series has always delivered original, exciting games, so if you haven’t had the pleasure of taking a trip into this bizarre world, now may be the time to do so.
