Ratchet & Clank Nexus Announced For PlayStation 3

Rachet & Clank Nexus

It looks like Insomniac Games is done messing around and will be returning to their roots with Ratchet & Clank Nexus for the PlayStation 3. I know right off the bat you’re wondering why it’s not on the PlayStation 4 instead and this question is stupidly easy to answer, because they are over 75 million PlayStation 3 owners out there, that’s why.

Ratchet & Clank Nexus is the follow up to A Crack in Time and will see the series return to it’s “traditional” gameplay so if you hated All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault/QForce (and many of you did) you’ll be pleased with the direction Ratchet & Clank is heading in.

The story somewhat came to a close in A Crack in Time so Nexus will instead act more like an epilogue. It will be available as a Blu Ray retail title or as a PlayStation Network download but don’t worry, Insomniac Games has promised that Nexus will be a much larger game that either Quest for Booty or Full Frontal Assault/QForce were.

Personally speaking I think it’s great to see Insomniac Games return to what works best for them. I think they have a natural home on the PlayStation and should be making games like Ratchet & Clank Nexus, not trying to awkwardly fit in to the crowded shooter market with games like Fuse.

Ratchet & Clank Nexus does not currently have an exact release date, all we know is that it will arrive before the end of the year for the PlayStation 3. Hopefully Nexus will be Insomniac Games’ return to greatness after a few clumsy years as of late.
