It looks like Microsoft is FINALLY set to reveal the Xbox 720 on May 21st according to their Facebook page. Maybe now developers across the world won’t have to try to come up with inventive ways of dodging the question whenever something Xbox “720″ related comes up.
Anyway if you head over to the Xbox Facebook page you’ll come across this.
It’s pretty much what you think it’s going to be but it’s rather close to E3 the following month so don’t expect a full blow out of the system on this date. Like Sony before them, Microsoft may choose to use the event to build hype for the system leading up until E3 although gamers are going to be watching the event ready to attack the system.
You see, in recent months there has been plenty of talk regarding the possibility of the next Xbox being an always online system. After seeing what happened to EA with SimCity earlier this year, it’s going to be highly entertaining watching Microsoft shoot themselves in the foot if indeed they are going down that route.
Whether you love or hate Microsoft there’s no doubt that the world will be paying close attention to whatever is revealed on May 21st. As usual I’ll be on hand to provide a summary of the event shortly after it’s ended.
