The ever popular Kingdom Hearts series is getting a HD makeover and a new trailer for 1.5 ReMIX has been released. You’re probably wondering about the weird 1.5 name alongside the ReMIX title because all they had to do was call this on Kingdom Hearts HD and it would of been fine.
The answer lies within the press release.
Fully remastered in HD, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 ReMIX is a stunning collection of the critically acclaimed KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX and KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories, never previously available in Europe and PAL territories. In addition, the collection will feature HD cinematic story videos from KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days, enhanced gameplay mechanics and PlayStation®3 system trophies. Players can now relive the origins of the celebrated franchise with Sora, Riku and the colorful cast of Disney characters, including Mickey, Donald and Goofy.
It’s basically two games in one, a HD upgrade of the original and a HD upgrade from the PlayStation 2 remake of Kingdom Hearts Chains of Memories which was originally a GameBoy Advance title. The Kingdom Hearts series has a nice clean art style that translates into HD perfectly, this one will no doubt be a pretty colourful release when it arrives.
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX is already out in Japan but we’ll have to wait until late 2013 before we see an international release. It’s also a PlayStation 3 exclusive so no love for Xbox 360 owners unfortunately.
