Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX Introduction Trailer

Kingdom Hearts 600 x 300

Disney have released a new introduction trailer for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX. For fans of the series this is a pointless trailer but for someone like me who has never played Kingdom Hearts, it’s pretty nice. I know you’re sitting there judging me for not playing Kingdom Hearts but truth be told, I was a GameCube/Dreamcast guy so I didn’t get into the PlayStation 2 until around 2005 with the original God of War & Shadow of the Colossus.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX is a HD remaster of the original Kingdom Hearts for the PlayStation 2, also included however is a 3D remake of the GameBoy Advance title, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. They’re also throwing in almost three hours worth of cinematic retelling from Kingdom Hearts 258/2 Days. I still think 258/2 is a stupid name.

I’ve been out of the RPG loop shortly after the PSOne era, perhaps it’s part of me growing up and not having the 20-30 hours worth of grinding to finish these titles or the genre itself started to suck. I think it’s a little bit of both to be honest but the new Kingdom Hearts III announcement looked really cool so I’m looking forward to becoming acquainted with the series when Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX arrives September 13th for the PlayStation 3.

Nothing has been confirmed yet but there is plenty of talk going around that Square Enix is currently working on Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 which will likely consist of Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+, Birth by Sleep Final Mix and cutscenes of Re:Coded.

Don’t forget, there’s also a limited edition version of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX which includes an artbook, it looks pretty neat.
