PlayStation Vita Slim Is Coming To The UK

Vita Slim 600

Sony announced earlier today that the newly re-designed PlayStation Vita Slim will indeed see a release outside of Japan. Everyone on the planet is simply going to call it the PlayStation Slim but the official name is PlayStation Vita 2000 if you prefer to stay accurate with this things.

So what’s new about the 2000 models as opposed to the original outside the reduced form factor and subtle cosmetic differences?

The PlayStation Vita 2000 features an improved battery life (an extra hour or two to be honest), 1Gb of internal memory and an LCD display which replaces the original OLED version from the original model. Basically the new model is a subtle improvement in all areas but features a lower quality screen so that’s a bit of a bummer.

Whilst Sony have not yet revealed any plans to release the PlayStation Vita 2000 in the states, we folks in the UK can get our dirty fingerprints on ours come February 7th. They’ve also announced a RRP of £180 which is laughable as it’s about £20 more expensive than a regular Vita with 10 games bundled.

Whether you already own the original bulky Vita with it’s glorious OLED display or plan to pick up the slimmer 2000 model next month, you should all be playing the wonderful Tearaway on it.
