Resident Evil 6 is coming to the PC and it will feature a brand new exclusive mode titled The Mercenaries No Mercy. I’m not even going to attempt to hide the truth here, the press release we got regarding this is well done but it makes no sense to the average reader. I’m going to break down all the details regarding the DLC in the clearest possible form.
PC Details
- Resident Evil 6 will be arriving in North America & Europe on March 22nd.
- Includes all the post game updates already seen on Xbox 360 & PS3.
- Does not include any of the already released Xbox 360 DLC modes.
- All the DLC modes including the new Siege mode will be available shorting after March 22nd.
- Will be available as a digital download in North America.
- Europeans get the choice of either a digital download or boxed retail release.
- The European version will cost €29.99/£19.99.
- Features an exclusive PC mode titled The Mercenaries No Mercy, it throws a ton of enemies at you and it will stay exclusive as the Xbox 360 & PS3 cannot handle this mode on a technical level as you can see below.
Xbox 360 Details
- Siege mode will be made available in sometime in March.
- It will cost 320 Microsoft points.
PlayStation 3 Details
- Siege mode will be made available in sometime in March.
- It will cost $3.99/€3.99/£3.19.
- Survivors, Predator and Onslaught modes previously exclusive to Xbox 360 will be available sometime in February.
- Like Siege they will each cost $3.99/€3.99/£3.19.
Siege Mode Details
Owners of Resident Evil 6 will be able to further expand their gameplay experience with the release of a fourth additional mode, Siege. An online multiplayer mode for two to six players, Siege sees a lone AI-controlled rookie BSAA agent in trouble and in need of help. Players will split into two teams with one assuming control of enemy creatures who are trying to take down the rookie, while the other team selects playable characters from the main game and must keep him alive. Each game consists of two rounds with teams switching between the human and enemy roles. The human team wins a round if the BSAA agent survives, while the enemies win if they can defeat him.
There you have, all the confusing details surrounding Resident Evil 6 hopefully made clear to you. I’ve already expressed my dislike for Resident Evil 6 in the past so we won’t get into that again but is it just me or do these extra modes all look a lot more fun than the actual game. The No Mercy mode on PC looks pretty crazy, I’d love to give that a go someday.
