SoulCalibur Lost Swords Launches This Spring

SoulCalibur V 600 x 300

Namco’s SoulCalibur series will be the next game to join the company’s efforts in the free to play market. I personally don’t remember anyone asking for such a thing but as a long time fan of the series, I’ll still check it out and it’s stupid to complain about something that’s free anyway.

SOULCALIBUR LOST SWORDS reinvents the world-renowned weapons-based fighting franchise with a brand new item discovery and forging system as well as elemental-based fighting mechanics. Special elemental effects such as Wind and Fire will be imbued into weapons scavenged from defeated enemies as well as forged from equipment collected by the player. Players will have to strategize which weapon to take into battle for a successful win.

The best way to describe SoulCalibur Lost Swords would be to imagine a version of SoulCalibur V with the online portion removed and RPG elements added in instead. Yup, that sounds every bit as good as I just described it but again, what kind of person complains about free stuff.

Despite being available in Japan for months we still don’t have a firm release date for SoulCalibur Lost Swords. The best we have is a vague spring release which means we could be seeing it in a matter of weeks or months but relatively soon none the less.
