Wii U and 3DS Players can Enjoy Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Together

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

Capcom have released a new trailer for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, which is coming to 3DS and Wii U next March. The Monster Hunter series has never really taken off in the Western world, but is an unstoppable force in Japan.

There are definitely a couple of things worth mentioning in the trailer. First of all, there will be a big focus on online play, which has never been Nintendo’s strong point. This could be an indication that the Wii U’s online functionality will be far better than consoles past. The second thing is the Wii U / 3DS inter-compatibility, which will allow not only game saves to be transferred back and forth, but also cross-play between the systems. I doubt if they’ll be going the Sony route and offering both versions in one package (as with PlayStation All-Stars), but I suppose this is a step in the right direction.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is shaping up to be an excellent title, and one that shows off the strengths of Nintendo’s current batch of consoles. Here’s the trailer so you can see for yourself:
