Despite what you’ve heard in the past before, Aliens Colonial Marines will not be coming to the Wii U after all. Originally the game was announced for Nintendo newest console but publisher SEGA has decided not to bother, it might have something to do with how terrible the game was.
I’m a fan of SEGA, in fact I think they put out some good stuff in recent years and this isn’t the same SEGA that released Sonic The Hedgehog in 2006. Sadly for them, Aliens Colonial Marines received an absolute butchering from fans and critics alike upon it’s release, it single handedly undid whatever good SEGA had done and cancelling the previously announced Wii U version is a smart idea. The last thing you want to do right now is add fuel to the fire, besides the Wii U is in desperate need of some games but Aliens Colonial Marines isn’t one of them
SEGA confirmed the following to Kotaku.
We are constantly looking at all areas of our business and in this case have made the decision to not continue development of the Wii U version. Rest assured that we have some fantastic developments for Wii U in the pipeline which we will announce at a later date.
There you have it then, the Wii U version of Aliens Colonial Marines has been taken round the back and put down. In case you’re wondering, this post is classified as good Wii U news for a change.
