The closer we get to game’s release, the more videos start to show up and this time we’ve got the Gears of War Judgment Guts of Gears trailer. I believe we’ve already covered this game in the past so instead of talking about what we know we’ll just focus on the new stuff for this post.
First up is the news that initial copies of Gears of War Judgment will contain the original Gears of War as an added bonus.
Additionally, Microsoft and Epic Games also announced that initial launch quantities of “Gears of War: Judgment” will include a Games on Demand Xbox LIVE download token for the epic game that started it all, “Gears of War”*. Research indicates that more than half of the consumers who played “Gears of War 3” did so without having experienced the original title from Epic Games. This added bonus, a £19.99 value, offers veteran fans and newcomers alike a fantastic way to re-experience the iconic game that sparked one of this generation’s most beloved and critically-acclaimed franchises and connect with the prequel storyline of “Gears of War: Judgment.”
Next up are the pre-order incentives, yeah I know, I hate pre-order stuff just as much as you do but let’s take a look anyway for those interested.
In a first for the franchise, all fans who pre-order “Gears of War: Judgment” from participating retailers will receive the Classic Hammerburst weapon in-game, providing a competitive advantage in the multiplayer experience. Additional retail-exclusive pre-order incentives are also available
- GAME: Emergence Day Marcus multiplayer skin
- Tesco: Emergence Day Dom multiplayer skin
- Shop2net: Alex Brand multiplayer skin
- Other select retailers: Anya (Gears of War 3) multiplayer skin
Finally we have the lock-in events we will allow players to get an early look at Gears of War Judgment. The events run through February and the game launches in mid March so that’s about a month in advance which is pretty cool.
UK gamers can win the chance to go hands on with Kilo Squad early, through a series of exclusive “Gears of War: Judgment” ‘lock-in’ events throughout February in partnership with GAME. The after-hours events, running nationwide from 3 – 27 February will give the UK gaming community an opportunity to experience the upcoming prequel to the franchise that has sold over 19 million copies worldwide. There you have it, that’s your Gears of War Judgment news for today and be sure to check out the trailer. It features a fun voice over from my favourite Gears of War character, Lt. Damon Baird. Why is he my favourite? Well him and “Cole Train” are the only characters in the series with any personality.
