SNAKE IN A MANKINI. Is not what Hideo Kojima, creative genius/professional lunatic, has in mind for the characters in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5. But don’t lie, some of you thought that. Some of you want that. You strange, strange people.
Through his twitter earlier as part of a broader conversation on characterisation he said this:
I’ve been ordering to Yoji to make the character more erotic, and he did it well. Recently I’ve been making characters this way.

That’s a little out of context, but it’s not too much out of context. In a string of tweets Kojima teased an announcement for a character in MGS5 for midnight on Friday. He also tweeted about his desire to make sure that the characters stood out, even from their shadows, citing Mad Max 1&2 as inspiration.
He says the overall aim is to make people “want to cosplay”, and make the merchandise sell, by giving the characters a rich background, personality traits and to look awesome/”erotic”.
For an example he suggested this (WARNING - It isn’t too NSFW, but it might be considered a tad inappropriate for the office).
This isn’t massively surprising from the warped mind of Hideo Kojima. And it’s far from the first reference to “erotic” characters in Metal Gear Solid (Eva in Metal Gear Solid 3 anyone?). There are too many weird and weirder moments, characters, dialogue, settings and whatever else from the Metal Gear Solid games to go into and it looks like Metal Gear Solid 5 won’t be bucking that trend any time soon.
Good.
In case you’ve forgotten about Metal Gear Solid 5 with all the excitement of other games with 5 in the title, here’s some gameplay footage. We’re good to you here, you lucky ducks.
