Volition have released a developer walkthrough trailer for Saint’s Row IV and it’s like the most insane thing ever. The days when Saint’s Row was nothing more than a Grand Theft Auto clone are long gone, this game makes Saint’s Row The Third look normal by comparison and that’s no easy feat.
I’ve decided to throw up a small checklist to see how many of my desires Saint’s Row IV is able to fulfil.
- Stone Cold Stunners - Yes
- Ability to inflate people - Yes
- Dubstep gun (very important) - Yes
- Monster trucks - Yes
- Aliens - Yes
- Robots - Yes
- Ability to play as the President of the United States - Yes
- Does he have super powers? - Yes
- Can he run really fast - Yes
- Does it remind me of Crackdown - Yes
- You can glide right? - Yes
- Ability to throw people into walls - Yes
- Not limited to people - Yes
- Are you lying about that dubstep gun? - No
- Good quality game overall - Probably not
There you have it then, I’m not expecting this to be a game of the year contender but it sure looks like a lot of fun. I’ve always had a soft spot for games that don’t give a s**t and that’s basically Saint’s Row IV.
The argument whether this should be DLC content for Saint’s Row The Third or a full on sequel still rages on. I’m personally not picking sides, I’ve never even played a Saint’s Row game so I don’t really care, bring it on.
