It’s a title that initially caused disappointment but now with this latest trailer, Super Mario 3D World might be turning some heads. Yeah it still has that isometric viewpoint but there’s no denying that it does look like it will be an entertaining title, especially with all the cloning madness happening at the end of the trailer.
There’s also no denying that it’s a Mario game, the gameplay looks enjoyable but the universe is still the same as it ever was. The last batch of Mario related titles (Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros 2, New Super Mario Bros U and Super Luigi U) have all been released fairly close to one another. Perhaps a little more breathing space for the italian plumber would do him and everyone else some good.
None the less, if you’re excited about what you see here then don’t be afraid to say it loud and proud. Most of the idiots who complain “urgh, another Mario game” are usually the ones who buy FIFA, Call of Duty and Battlefield year in, year out so they’re not in a position to judge.
Alongside this new trailer comes a European release date of November 29th. We’ve lost Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze until 2014 so it’s up to Mario and Sonic to give the Wii U the support it needs right about now.
