The big one is finally here, it’s Super Smash Bros 4 and there’s a trailer for it, need I go on? Actually I do because this is a games site and not a silly YouTube comment so the need to “educate” the readers is always there. Well let’s get started then.
Super Smash Bros doesn’t have an official name at the moment so we’ll just refer to it as Smash Bros 4 okay?
Development on Smash Bros 4 started last year after work on Kid Icarus Uprising for the 3DS was complete, what we’re seeing today is the result of little over a year’s worth of development time so it’s still rather early stuff . The game is a co-development effort between Nintendo and Namco Bandai games, the latter of which are VERY experienced when it comes to fighting games.
Enough chatter, let’s take a look at the trailer we’ve waited so long to see.
Yup I totally thought the game was going to have that cartoony art style too until I noticed I was just watching the 3DS version which is a lot more impressive than I expected it to be. The Wii U version looks fine too although it’s goes for a more “realistic” look with it’s visuals and I use that word VERY loosely.
The surprise newcomer is the addition of MegaMan who Capcom seems to hate these days so it’s nice to see the little blue bomber get some love from someone. Other than a trailer and Megaman we don’t ANYTHING else about Smash Bros 4, it’s expected in 2014 and that’s pretty much it.
To be honest the whole trailer felt more like a teaser than a full blowout and it’s probably too soon to be showing off much anyway. The Smash Bros site is live and there’s plenty of screenshots to be seen, so much so that I’m straight up recommending you go there right now.
